Description

Appearance: Clear in gloss or suede finish
Colours: Clear
Solids: ± 45%by mass and ± 51% by volume
Density: 0,90 kg/litre.
Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 35 - 45 µm per coat minimum.
Spreading Rate: 10 - 12 m²/litre. The practical spreading rate will dependent on the porosity and profile of the wood as well as the application technique and tools used.
Viscosity: 55 Kµ.
Flash Point: 23°C.

Storage:

Features

  • Durable clear finish with excellent mar-resistance.

Intended Usages

  • Interior wooden surfaces such as furniture, cupboards and skirtings
  • Tables, bar counters and floors.

Application Details

  • Mixing: Stir before use with a flat paddle to an even consistency. Stir occasionally during use.
  • Method: Roller, brush or spray.
  • Thinning: ProGold Mineral Turpentine.
  • Cleaning: Remove as much of the product as possible from the application equipment before cleaning with ProGold Mineral Turpentine.

Conditions:

  • Temperature between 5°C and 40°C.
  • Relative humidity of less than 85%, preferably between 10: 00 and 16: 00.

Drying time: 
Surface dry - 1 hour, Hard dry - 16 hours. 
Note:  Higher temperatures will accelerate the drying times (approximately halved for every 10°C increase), whilst lower temperatures will retard the drying time (approximately doubled for every 10°C decrease).

Recoating time:
 16 hours.

Requirements:
 2-4 coats.

Surface Preparations

  • Sand wood to a smooth finish with 150 grit sandpaper.
  • Remove all dust by wiping with a cloth moistened with ProGold Mineral Turpentine.
  • Apply first coat thinned down with 10%ProGold Mineral Turpentine.
  • Sand wood lightly with fine sandpaper or fine steelwool to flatten the wood fibre.
  • Remove dust and apply 2nd and 3rd coat undiluted.
  • Abrade surface lightly with fine sandpaper to a matt finish.
  • Remove all dust.

Limitations

  • Not recommended for exterior use - low UV resistance.
  • Use only in well-ventilated areas.
  • Surfaces must be dry.
  • Clear Suede must be stirred well regularly with a flat paddle during use to prevent sheen variations.

Safety

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ensure to maintain good ventilation during application and drying process.
  • In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with running water and seek medical advice.
  • If product is ingested drink plenty of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting at any time. Seek medical advice.
  • Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for detailed information about the product and transportation and classification criteria. MSDS is available on www.prominentpaints.co.za or from Prominent Customer Service Department.
  • To avoid any risk of spillage, always transport in a secure upright position.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ensure to maintain good ventilation during application and drying process.
  • Wear a suitable dust mask if sanding.
  • In case of accidental skin contact, wash with soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with running water and seek medical advice.
  • If product is ingested drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting at any time. Seek medical advice.
  • Do not smoke while painting.
  • To avoid any risk of spillage, always transport in a secure upright position.
